What this site stores
Cookies and similar tools save small pieces of information on your device.
Saves your choices and keeps the site working
| Name | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
cookie-choice | Local storage | Remembers your answer for each category | Until you clear it |
theme | Local storage | Remembers light or dark mode, if you use the switch | Until you clear it |
seen, veil, lead, need | Session storage | Skips the intro after the first page, runs page transitions, and shows your request on the thank-you page | Until you close the tab |
Analytics, only if you allow them
Google Analytics and PostHog show me which pages get read and how people find the site. Google Tag Manager, which loads them, doesn't load until you allow analytics or recordings.
| Name | Type | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Cookie | Google Analytics | Tells visits apart | 400 days |
_ga_96V85RBDWD | Cookie | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your visit | 400 days |
ph_<project key>_posthog | Cookie | PostHog | Tells visits apart | 365 days |
Keys starting ph_ | Local and session storage | PostHog | Supports the same analytics | Local storage until cleared, session storage until you close the tab |
Session recordings, only if you allow them
PostHog records how visitors move around a page, so I can spot what's confusing. Anything you type is hidden, and forms are never recorded. If you allow recordings but not analytics, only PostHog's cookie and browser storage are set, with no Google cookies, and PostHog analytics stay off.
YouTube videos
Videos don't load until you press play. When you do, the player comes from YouTube's privacy-enhanced service, and YouTube may store information on your device. Google's privacy policy explains how: policies.google.com/privacy.
Bot check on the forms
When you click into a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks you're a person and not a bot. It runs whatever your cookie choice, because it keeps the forms secure. You usually won't see it, unless Cloudflare needs you to confirm. How Turnstile handles data.
Cloudflare Web Analytics
This counts visits on every page, including before you make a choice. It doesn't store anything on your device.
Changing your mind
Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice at any time. If you turn analytics off, its Google cookies are removed on the next page load. If you turn everything off, all analytics and recording items are removed. PostHog's items stay while recordings are on. You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.
Record of your choice
Each time you choose, I keep a record of your answer for each category and the date. It doesn't include your IP address, your name or anything else that identifies you. Records are deleted after 2 years.
